Sunset to Sunrise

Sunset to Sunrise follows Grant Todd, a twenty-five-year-old back from Iraq who walks into his own homecoming party and finds both parents dead on the floor and a seven-foot wolf standing in his mother's kitchen. What he doesn't know is that his family belongs to a hidden world: his father worked for a vampire crime lord, his uncle Harold runs a covert agency called Lineage that tracks werewolves and worse across the city, and his mother could hold light in the palm of her hand. Running through a Los Angeles that has quietly changed around him — grey figures watching from the sidewalks, a strip club where the drinks are blood — Grant discovers he can throw a roomful of vampires off their feet without touching them. Meanwhile Lineage turns up two things nobody can explain: the clan brand on the wolf's arm, and poison baked into the welcome-home cake his own parents made for him.
